Push
Before the international bookings and A State of Trance, Armin van Buuren was a young listener discovering dance music on the radio. A sampler opened the way from listening to making tracks; the Timeless releases brought those experiments onto vinyl. [1]

Release history and significance
Van Buuren acquired his first sampler in 1992 and began producing while still in his teens. His first releases for the Dutch Timeless label followed in 1996. “Push” belongs to that early period, before “Blue Fear” carried his name to a wider audience. [1]
The record credits him simply as Armin, with writing and production under his full name. “Push” takes the A-side; “Don’t Be Afraid” and “The Real Life” share the reverse. Discogs classifies the release as house, a useful reminder of the range of music behind his later trance identity. [2]
Looking back, he acknowledged the importance of Chicago house and producers such as Todd Terry and Masters at Work to the music that followed. This small Dutch release places that history close to the start of his own catalogue. [1]
