Art of War EP
Peggy Gou learned to DJ because she loved sharing music. Learning to produce was the next step: she wanted records with a sound of her own. Art of War introduced that work on Rekids in January 2016. [1]

Release history and significance
Gou had studied fashion in London while taking music lessons on the side. After moving to Berlin in November 2014, she continued developing her production with guidance from Esa and the musicians of Nu Guinea. Those lessons also opened her ears to music she had not known, particularly African records. [1]
She already knew Rekids founder Matt Edwards, better known as Radio Slave, when she sent him demos. Gou recalled being nervous about whether her music would fit the label. Friends had encouraged her to trust her judgment about when a track was ready; the first release followed on 22 January 2016. [1] [2]
The EP places “Troop” and “In Sum” on one side, with Galcher Lustwerk’s remix of “Troop” on the other. Gou also supplied the illustration, making the sleeve another part of her introduction. [2]
